Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, addressing a public rally at the BJP national executive, said that wherever “there is a Muslim population in the world, the countries live under threat of militancy and terrorism.” He added: “Muslims the world over do not want to mingle with other communities. They simply do not want to live in peace. The countries where there are Muslim populations live in perpetual fear of Islamic militancy.” Continuing to target the community, Vajpayee said: “Wherever I went I heard of Islamic militancy.” He did not stop at this: “Today's Islam preaches violence and militancy. It talks of jihad. Today Islam is being used for militancy.”

“In Indonesia, Malaysia, wherever Muslims are living they don't want to live in harmony,” he claimed. “Ghul milkar nahin rehte. They are not interested in living in peace.”
